A little trip down memory lane... Singapore's 1st Ever R/C Drift Competition!!!

Near the end of 2005, SGDrifters managed to influence many to pick up R/C Drifting as their hobby. Members grew quickly, both locally & overseas.

In order to increase the excitement for this hobby, SGDrifters quickly came up with the plan to host competition. After plenty of sleepless nights & basketful of paper balls, the SGDrifters R/C Drift Challenge 2006 was borned!!!

It was the first ever R/C Drifting competition in Singapore, and probably the region. Rules and regulations were written to bring the competition standard as close to the real thing as possible, and shared to members overseas.

Here comes the WOLF, RC-Art WhiteWolf : CE-RX Project

From one of the very renowned creators for RC Drift Chassis. This chassis kit comes with front one-way, CS ratio, huge steering angle and plenty more quality products.

Unboxing this kit, you will also find a coloured instruction manual to better guide you through the built.

Further exploration into the box, you will find the extremely gorgeous Silver Graphite Chassis, a.k.a SSG, cut to perfection with all the lightening designs.

Next prominent find within the box would be the aluminium parts. For those who are used to building high-end RC cars that comes with anodized aluminium parts, will definitely find the aluminium that comes with this car to be different. And that is some really good difference.

Another great attachment to this kit would definitely be the suspension set. The suspension comes with slow rebound option, which most suspension on the market are not equipped with. This slow rebound option is highly recommended in the instruction manual and highly recommended by WhiteWolf Users.

The Challenge is Over!!!

First of all, we would like to thank ALL participants for taking part in this wonderful event, we hope you enjoyed your time down at UPCC!

For those of you who have been living under a rock, 31st of August saw the SGDrifter's RC Drift Challenge that was held down at UPCC.

As many as 31 participants turned up for this event to try and claim the first place prize, a Yokomo Drift Kit!
Brothers and Organizers Zhirong(Dabomb) and Alex were down early at the track to set up the course for our fellow SGDrifters to come and set up their rigs before the competition began.
Like mentioned, the turn out was fantastic! Even more so, the rigs that came along with them were a sight to see!
Of course, no competition would be complete without a Camera man, and in our case, 2 camera men! Props to Colin (aka Picheers) for helping out with photo taking, thank you!
Some of the body shells featured that day were spectacular, but of course, non matched the price of the Sony body shell used by our amateur camera man who frantically tried to keep his camera from harms way!
Competition was stiff, and many struggled hard to keep their line, some were fast during their singles heat, but failed to perform well during doubles.

At the end of the day, only 3 out of the 31 participants rose to become Champions of the UP Challenge, and they are:

3rd Place: JJ!
2nd Place: Yuan He!
1st Place: Billy!
All in all this event was a success, and we owe it all to our fellow SGDrifters who made it possible!
Once again, we'd like to thank all of you for making this event a success, if you have any feedback whatsoever regarding the competition, do feel free to post questions on the webboard or email us at sgdrifters@gmail.com
Organizing Committee(Left to Right): Zhirong(Dabomb), Danny, Alex, Andrew(One Man Budget)
